Design properties

Types

Small (8×8)

Use to indicate an unread notification. This badge has an outer border for clear separation from the icon lines.

Large (16×16)

Use to communicate item count information.

Behavior and Interaction

Positioning

Position badges in the top right corner of the icon’s 24×24 bounding box.

The small badge is positioned 1px outside the icon’s bounding box on the top and right.

The large badge is positioned 4px outside the icon’s bounding box on the top and 8px outside the icon bounding box on the right.
